BIO:
I have been teaching writing and
computer applications courses for the University of Maryland University College
(UMUC) in Central Germany and for UMUC's Mannheim Campus in Mannheim,
Germany since March 1997. I
received my formal education from Chadron State
College in Chadron, Nebraska where I earned a bachelor's degree in English with a
minor in Business Administration, and then a master's degree in English Education.
Before working toward my master's degree, I worked
for a year as the news editor for
the Chadron Record, a bi-weekly newspaper in Northwestern Nebraska. This
position proved to me that I needed to further my education. I
attained a position as the secretary of the Language & Literature
Department at Chadron State College and proceeded toward completing my master's degree.
Upon
completion of my graduate degree, I had the opportunity to teach freshman composition at Chadron State
College. Moving away from "home" was inevitable; in February 1997, I accepted a full-time faculty position with UMUC in Europe.
I have been teaching at various military installations throughout Central Germany
and at UMUC's Mannheim Campus in Mannheim, Germany since March 1997 . . . and
I love every minute of it! (Well, okay, except for the constant grading.)
